Why do I combine scinece and art?
I combine science and art to bridge the gap between
the public and the people in lab coats.
Science plays a key role in the life and development of society.
It is providing us with new knowledge, technologies, and innovations like vaccines.
But science is increasingly overlooked in our world driven by emotion, opinion, and instant gratification. In an age of misinformation, facts often lose against louder voices.
Unfortunately, science has become quite unpopular.
Through my art, I translate scientific knowledge into visual experiences that
spark curiosity and wonder. By bridging the gap between science and emotion,
I aim to make complex ideas accessible and engaging to a wider audience.
My work invites viewers to see science not as distant or abstract,
but as a vital part of our shared human story.
What technique do I use?
I combine ink drawings on paper with digital backgrounds
to highlight the contrast between the objectivity of science and the
emotional texture of everyday life. This fusion of analog and digital reflects the tension
between rational understanding and human experience.
My work seeks to open a dialogue between these two worlds,
revealing their hidden connections.
I believe that through my artworks people can experience science, feel science and hopefully start appreciating science again.
I am an artist, and I am a scientist.
When I left school, I first studied biology. Ten years, a Dr. title and a couple scientific publications later, I started my art career.
I was trained by the photographer Eberhard Gronau for three years. And I took courses in illustration in Vienna.
Today I combining both fields, science and art.
